Narset, Parter of Veils//Day’s Undoing – Deck Tech Video

Greetings again, friends and Planeswalkers! Kel here (also known as RedZoneMTG on YouTube and Twitter). Today, I have a deck tech featuring the dreaded Narset, Parter of Veils []!

When I first saw Narset, Parter of Veils [] spoiled during the War of the Spark spoiler season, I knew it would have a huge impact on Oathbreaker. Some folks immediately called for bans on cards like Nicol Bolas, Dragon-God [] (who is actually very fun as an Oathbreaker) or The Elderspell [], but I had my eyes squarely fixed upon the innocuous uncommon Narset. I thought back to how unfun Leovold, Emissary of Trest [] was in commander before he got banned and wondered if Narset – having 2 less colors or being a Planeswalker that could be attacked – would be more balanced. I think the jury is still out on that one, but I DO know that she is quite powerful and sometimes straight up unfun to play against depending on your playgroup’s mindset – just let your playgroup know what they’re getting into before whipping out your Narset deck.

The following video is my version of Narset, Parter of Veils [] paired with the signature spell of Days Undoing []. The deck focuses on controlling the game through card advantage, counterspells, occasional removal and wheel effects that effectively wipe-out your opponents hands. The deck finishes the game with powerful creatures like Psychosis Crawler [], Thing in the Ice [], Kefnet the Mindful [] and good ol’ Frost Titan []. Watch on for a more detailed description of the deck and why I chose to play the cards that I did.
